Gel coat is the superficial coating of most of the composite materials in general and of fiberglass parts in particular. Its functions are therefore to protect the composite part and to give it an attractive look.

The formulation is based on unsaturated polyester resins, pigments, fillers, additives, promoters and inhibitors. Each raw material is selected according to the final use of the part that needs to be coated with gel coat.
